Ready to Rock 'n Roll Tomorrow--Common Core Language Unit!

Why am I ready to rock 'n roll tomorrow?  Because I just finished my next unit in "Common Core Language Practice to Mastery!"  My 2nd graders did a FANTASTIC job with the L.2.1 unit and now we are ready to tackle some more Common Core standards.  This unit covers L.2.2, including 8 skills:

Lesson 1: L.2.2.C1 (Concept 1) Capitalize geographic names
Lesson 2:  L.2.2.C2 (Concept 2) Capitalize holidays, days, months and product names
Lesson 3:  L.2.2.C3 (Concept 3) Use commas in greetings and closings of letters
Lesson 4: L.2.2.C4 (Concept 4) Contractions (Parts 1, 2 and 3)
Lesson 5: L.2.2.C5 (Concept 5) Contractions in sentences
Lesson 6: L.2.2.C7 (Concept 7) Possessive nouns (Use an apostrophe to form contractions and frequently occurring possessives)
Lesson 7: L.2.2.C6 (Concept 6) Contractions or possessives?
Lesson 8a: L.2.2.C8a (Concept 8a) Spelling--generalize learned spelling patterns when writing words (e.g., cage, badge, boy, boil);
Lesson 8b: L.2.2.C8b (Concept 8b) Spelling--consult reference materials, including beginning dictionaries, as needed to check and correct spellings.
